Sintered bronze flange bearings are made of powdered metal bronze (SAE 841), and feature interconnected reservoirs of oil. The SAE 841 material comprises of carbon, copper (87-90%), tin (8-9), and other elements. SurfRainbow provides a wide range of sintered bronze plain sleeve bushings.
SAE 841 has amazing mechanical properties, which makes it an ideal choice for bearings. It has a tensile strength of 14000 PSI, and density in the range from 6.4 – 6.8 g/cm3.
The oil impregnated bushings are all REACH, DFARS, and RoHS compliant. During the manufacturing process, these bearings are vacuum impregnated with SAE 30 oil, which is used for lubrication purpose. These Oil-Lite bushings are self-lubricating, and release the oil to its surface when in motion. This keeps them away from corrosion, and helps in smooth operation. When the bearings are at rest, the oil is restored. These bearings are effective for temperatures ranging from +10°F to + 175°F. The standard tolerances of the bearings varies as per their size.
